Software Engineer

Litel Instruments develops and produces leading edge products for the semiconductor industry. Litel Instruments' products are sophisticated tools designed to provide a complete analysis of the optical capabilities of photolithography systems used in semiconductor manufacturing. These products provide full independent analyses of lens aberrations and illuminator characteristics, and can be used with lithography tools from any supplier. Litel Instruments has been supplying the semiconductor industry for over a decade.

Based in San Diego, California, Litel has an immediate opening for a Software Engineer with the main job function of performing advanced programming work by preparing program specifications and to code, debug, test, and document complex programs, taking verbal and written specifications to create and update software products in accordance with company software design and coding standards, and creating code that integrates well with existing code.

Specific job duties of the position are:

• Designs, codes, compiles, tests, debugs, modifies and documents new or existing complex applications programs within accepted standards, procedures and guidelines.
• Prepares utilities for use in the applications environment.
• Identifies, researches and assists in resolving program, machine, data or software problems, frequently in consultation with other employees, supervisors or users.
• Meets with customer support and QA engineers to determine needs and parameters and to evaluate results; assists in writing user guides and production documentation.
• Provides technical advice, assistance and guidance to employees who are less experienced or familiar with a specific programming language.

Qualifications include:

• A Bachelor´s degree in engineering.
• 2-5 years experience as a software programmer.
• Strong knowledge in development of Windows Desktop Applications.
• Strong knowledge in C++
• Strong knowledge in C#
• Strong knowledge in scientific programming.
• Strong working knowledge of Visual C++ 6.0 and Visual Studio 2005
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Foundation Classes.
• Working knowledge of Office Automation Programming.
• Working knowledge of various Windows Operating Systems and languages variations.
• Working knowledge of command line processing.
• Working knowledge of Object Oriented Programming.
• Strong analytical and technical skills for designing software, writing software and isolating software defects.
• Knowledge of Semiconductor Lithography Processing and Equipment is a plus
• Strong math background is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written skills.

Manufacturing Technician

Litel has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Technician with the main function of performing assembly operations following detailed process specifications (DPS) and inspection specifications (IS) to fabricate hardware units.

Functions, Responsibilities, and Duties:

• Working in a Class 100 clean room wearing full ¨bunny suit¨ clean room garments.
• Operating a reticle alignment station and automatic inspection station.
• Performing all activities relating to the fabrication, inspection and measurements of sub-assemblies and final hardware assemblies in accordance with the directives of the Company Quality Plan.
• Reading and following Detailed Process Specifications (DPS)
• Reading and following Inspection Specifications (IS)
• Taking measurements as directed by DPS and IS and recording data on Computer.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Preference for hands-on assembly work.
• Good manual dexterity.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to follow detailed written/verbal directions and specifications.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Must have some basic familiarity with computers.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in a clean room.
• Advanced computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
